
On 24 and 25 November 2025 in Luanda, Angola, the President of the Council of Ministers, Giorgia Meloni, participated, together with the other leaders of the European Union (EU) and the member states of the African Union (AU), in the seventh EU-AU summit on the theme “Promoting peace and prosperity through effective multilateralism”.
The summit, marking 25 years of EU-AU partnership as well as 50 years of independence for Angola and several other African countries, was co-chaired by the President of Angola, João Lourenço, and the President of the European Council, António Costa.
The EU was represented by the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, and the AU by H.E. Mahmoud Ali Youssouf, the Chair of the African Union Commission.
